Sleek Lip VIP Lipstick Review and Swatches

Hi Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

You may have noticed that I went on a little long blogging break recently and there are a couple of reasons as to why. Firstly, I've been up to my eyeballs planning and filming videos for my channel. Honestly it's unbelievable how much time my YouTube channel takes up especially now that I'm incorporating new content in the form of travel vlogs. The second reason is that honestly I just lost my mojo. I've been putting lots and lots of different products through their paces over the last little while though so I've plenty of reviews due to go live on the blog and I'm starting with something cheap and cheerful, Sleek Makeup's VIP Lipstick range!

Before we go any further I should probably state that this post will be picture heavy. I really missed that part of blogging in particular I absolutely love photographing products for the blog. Anyway, recently I was invited along to a blogger brunch in the Stone Leaf courtesy of Sleek MakeUP and at the event we got a sneak peek at the company's limited edition Autumn/Winter collection. During the event there was an exclusive demo from one of the brands UK makeup artists and afterwards we got a lovely goodie bag to go home with filled with products from their new range. I'm a huge lipstick lover and as a result they were the first products that I gravitated towards so let's have a closer look.

There are 12 shades in the range 5 of which I own but I can tell you now, I'll be adding more colours to my collection. All of the lipsticks glide onto the lips with ease due to their creamy nature. They leave a semi matte finish so great for those out there that have dry lips like myself but still want to wear a highly pigmented lip colour. I quite liked the sheen the lipsticks gave to my lips it made them look a little more plump which was a nice bonus! They are very comfortable to wear which is down to the nourishing ingredients the products are jam packed with, vitamin E, shea butter and coconut oil to name a few. I didn't have a problem with bleeding or smudging which sometimes can be an issue with lipsticks of a creamy nature but thankfully it wasn't the case this time. The only downside I noted was that if you have flaky lips like myself the lighter colours aren't very forgiving. It's not really an issue for me because the lighter colours wouldn't be ones that I would sport often, if at all so it's more so just something to note!

Packaging wise it's simplistic just how I like it. The lipsticks have a clear bottom meaning you can see the shade of the lip colour inside. If you have a drawer full of lipsticks like myself you'll appreciate this feature because it means you can easily locate a specific shade.

Overall I highly rate the VIP lipstick range. Sleek is available from pharmacies nationwide. Boots is the go-to spot for me and these lipsticks will set you back €7.49 a pop there! Steal or what :)

Sleek Makeup i-Divine Ultra Mattes Palette Dark V2

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

Today I have a review of another Sleek Makeup eyeshadow palette. You all know by now I love their products, I can't recall a single item that I didn't like *touches wood*. So as you can imagine this review is no different to the others, its a positive review of a brilliant palette!
I've already reviewed a couple of Sleek's eyeshadow palettes including the V1 version of this palette which you can find here if you are interested.
The 'Brights Palette V1' was actually my first Sleek Makeup purchase which was over a year and a half ago. Ah such fond memories :')
The relationship has been going steady ever since!

The name of the palette may just be a dead giveaway but included in this palette are 12 matte eyeshadows. Never would have guessed would you huh?
Like the rest of the Sleek palettes I have tried, the eyeshadows in the palette are highly pigmented. The texture of each eyeshadow slightly varies, some are more soft than others and some have a more chalky consistency.
When using these shadows you will get a little bit of fallout down onto the cheek area even with the use of a primer, in particular with the shade 'Noir'. Eyeshadow fallout isn't a big deal to me, for that reason I always apply my foundation after my eye makeup so I can clean away any eyeshadow that has dropped down onto the cheeks. I know a lot of people prefer to apply their foundation before eye makeup so the fallout could be a little problem for you.
Nothing a bit of concealer couldn't fix so overall I personally don't find it to be a big deal :)
When you open the palette you will find a plastic slip with the names of each of the eyeshadows on it. This is the one thing I don't like, across all of the Sleek eyeshadow palettes. I like being able to place a name to each eyeshadow which is particularly helpful if you do makeup tutorials like myself. Its handy to be able to point out to viewers the name of the eyeshadow opposed to saying 'this one here'. I would have preferred is the eyeshadow names were printed on the back of the palette behind each of the eyeshadows. But thats just me being picky hehe. No other complainants here!

As much as I love my brightly coloured eyeshadows theres nothing that makes me weak at the knees like a decent dark smokey eyes palette.
I love the variety of colours in this palette, for me it consists of the perfect shade range to create a deep smokey eye look….and a natural smokey eye too surprisingly. Don't just limit yourself to using black for a smokey eye, a smokey eye can be created using any colour and there are some real beauties in this palette! I've repurchased this palette twice I just absolutely adore it!

I love the simplicity of the packaging. Its plain black with just the company logo on the front and its super sturdy. The large mirror inside is a bonus too making it a perfect palette for on the go! I have used this palette to create numerous makeup looks on my channel, I would almost go as far as saying that this is my favourite eyeshadow palette…ever. Yep! That is how much I love it. It is definitely my most reached for palette out of all of the eyeshadow palettes I own. Below I have posted just a couple of eyeshadow looks I have created using the palette, with links to tutorials on how to achieve the looks!

You can guarantee that this will not be the last time you hear me talk about/ use this palette. I have already 2 more upcoming makeup tutorials using the palette :) I can't get enough of it! Probably the best thing about this eyeshadow palette is the price. You can pick this palette up from loads of different places, I purchased mine from Cloud10Beauty for only €9.99!
Its astounding that you can pick up an eyeshadow palette of this quality for less than a tenner, you really can't go wrong!
If there was ever a palette I could tell you that you need in your collection, this is it. You will not be disappointed :)

Have you tried any of the Sleek palettes?
What are your thoughts?

Sleek MakeUP Face Contour Kit 'Light' Review

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

Long time know chat!
Finally my exams are out of the way so I can focus all my attention on blogging and filming makeup tutorials...yaaaay!
Today I have for you all a review of the Sleek Contour Kit in the shade 'Light'.
As most of you all know by now I could pass as a Twilight extra, so I need a contour shade that isn't too dark against my ghostly skin.

(Highlighter: Pressed Powder 19. Bronzer: Pressed Powder 21)

I have used the exact same bronzer and highlighter combination since around October 2011, which is quite evident based on the picture above!
Once I find a product I like and that works for me, I use it religiously. I'm not too open to change but I'm getting better at putting new products to the test.
A couple of months ago I decided to venture outside the comfort zone and step away from my beloved Inglot highlighter and bronzer duo and try the much hyped up Sleek Contour Kit.

Once I removed the packaging and revealed the palette I noticed the design was almost identical to that of the eyeshadow palettes. I adore the packaging.
Simple, sleek and sturdy!
The palette is compact and it comes with a decent size mirror making it ideal for travel.

As I mentioned above, I picked up the kit in the shade 'Light'. Sleek MakeUP also offer this product in the shades 'Medium' and 'Dark'.
The kit includes a matte brown contour shade and a pearlescent highlighter shade.
The first thing I noticed with the kit was that the contour shade is larger than the highlighter shade, opposed to a 50/50 split.
I was happy to see this as although I use both on a daily basis, I find I use up my contour shade quicker as you might have noticed in the picture of the Inglot palette above.
I am extremely impressed with this kit!
The contour shade is perfect for us paler ladies, it isn't orange and doesn't give a mucky appearance to the skin which I find to often be the case with bronzers.
Using my Sigma F05 Small Contour Brush I sweep the contour shade along the hollows of my cheeks, from time to time followed by the jawline and temples.
I then use my Blank Canvas Cosmetics F15 Small Contour/Highlighter Brush to highlight the areas of my face where the light would naturally hit. I prefer to use this brush as it tapered allowing me to glide the product over the high points of my face with ease. I generally tend to highlight down the centre of my nose, the tops of my cheeks and above my cupids bow. I have found that the highlight shade also acts as a gorgeous brow bone highlight!

I have found that the contour kit enhances my features giving definition and structure to my face with ease!
I absolutely adore this product and would recommend it to anyone who struggles to find a contour shade for pale skin. Its an absolute gem!
I picked mine up from Cloud10Beauty.com for only €9.95, another bargain buy for Eimear! :)
Here's to the next year and a half together ♥

Have you tried the contour kit?
What are your thoughts? :)

Sleek iDivine Acid Palette Review

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

As you all know by now I am a huge fan of colour.
So it may surprise you that I only purchased the acid palette recently....
shame on me!
My first Sleek purchase was the brights palette, I have reviewed that too you can check that out here. Because I bought this I didn't want to pick up the acid palette although I heard lots about it, purely because I found the palettes to be quite similiar colour wise. I only bought the brights palette first because it was a new palette, I always had planned on purchasing the acid palette too :)

Like the other Sleek palettes I own they come in this compact form. The design is plain and simply, very classy. You may notice the Sleek logo on this palette differs to the logo on the brights palette. Personally I prefer this design but hey its whats on the inside that counts so lets take a look!

As you can see from the snap above the colours are extremely vibrant, oh they are just divine! I can safely say that the colours are as pigmented on the eyes as they are in the pan. There is nothing worse than buying an eyeshadow to find it has little to no colour pay off, even with the use of bases and primers!
Thankfully this hasn't been the case with any of the sleek eyeshadows I've used..pheeew!

You can go for a really colourful smokey eye or you can opt for the traditional black smokey eye with this palette, I bet you all know what I went for.
Thats right, colourful!
I tried to squash as many colours on my eyelids as possible and I am really happy with the end result!

I used a white base underneath the shadows so that they would show up as vibrantly as possible and last all day long too.
I like the consistency of the eyeshadows they are a little chalky however with the use of a base they was little to no fall out down my cheeks.

I purchased this palette from Irish Online Beauty Retailer Beauty Emporium.
This palette set me back €9.99 and can be found here.
Sleek palettes are super affordable, extremely high quality, compact and convenient for travel.
As usual I'm very pleased with my purchase from Sleek, I would highly recommend this palette to anyone who would like to experiment with colour!

Thanks for tuning in guys!
I want to know have you tried any Sleek products, if so what are your favs!

Sleek MakeUP Blush Review

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

Today I'm blogging about some blushes from a much talked about brand..Sleek MakeUP!
I purchased my first few items from Sleek over the Summer and I've been in love ever since.
The price, the packaging, the product..simply flawless. So far I have noted that it is quite hard to find a flaw in any of the products I own from this company (touch wood!)...now on to the review! :)

I purchased all of my Sleek products from an Irish company called Beauty Emporium. If you are looking for beauty bargains ladies you need to check out this website! Free shipping also on all Irish orders which is extra sweet! You can find Beauty Emporium by clicking here.

The first blush I have to show you is  Rose Gold 926

This first blush is a gorgeous peachy/ coral shade with gold flecks running through it. I have a rather pale complexion and I find this shade quite flattering on my skin tone. Its also a nice alternative to maybe the more commonly used pink shade of blusher. This blush is highly pigmented as is the rest of the range of blushes that I own from Sleek.

The second shade I own is Pomegranate 923

This shade is my favourite out of the 5 I own. Its gives a lovely flush of colour to the cheeks and is a perfect shade for the Autumn/ Winter months. I love how this blush is so versatile, I've even used it as an eyeshadow once or twice! It suits all skin tones it is just a matter of building up the intensity of the blush to suit your skin tone. In my case, I use a light hand to apply a light wash of colour.

The third blush I have is called Pixie Pink 936

I decided to pick up this blush specifically for my kit. Personally I find it essential that I have a range of matte shades along with shimmers. Pixie Pink is a matte bubblegum shade of pink, again its very flattering on fairer skin. This shade dusted on the apples of the cheeks completes any makeup look.

The next shade is Flamingo 937

You can probably guess why this blush is called Flamingo, its a very bright pink shade!
Personally I would not wear this shade, I picked it up for my makeup kit. I would use this maybe for more creative makeup as the colour is so vibrant, however as I said before if you use a light hand it can be applied as a suitable wash of colour to the cheeks.

The final shade I own is Flushed 935

Flushed is a gorgeous deep berry shade, like Pomegranate this shade is ideal for the Autumn/Winter months. Very appropriate name as it does provide a nice flush of colour to the cheeks! I love combining a deep coloured blush like this with a vampy lip.

Main Thoughts

I have found that all of these blushes are highly pigmented and apply with ease to the skin.
They are not chalky, the lasting power is pretty good and they do not oxidise on the skin.
They are extremely affordable, the last three blushes I picked up were on offer for €5.49 with free shipping, I purchased these blushes during the VAT free sale that Beauty Emporium was holding so I got them at an even cheaper price!
I love the packaging, its sleek just like the company name!
They are nice and compact and fit comfortably in my makeup kit.
The only downside to the packaging is that it is a little hard to open. While I was struggling to open one of the blushes I ended up scraping a small chunk out of the blush, so just be careful of this!
Other than that I cannot fault these blushes :)

Overall

Pro's:
  • Highly Pigmented
  • Extremely Affordable
  • Professional Looking Packaging
  • Long Lasting
Con's:
As I said above the packaging is quite difficult to clip open. This can result in damaging the blush inside like I did, so its something to bear in mind!
Also I find the packaging as it is black can dirty quite easily, not a major problem but a problem nonetheless!

Have you any of the blushes from Sleek MakeUP?
If so whats your favourite :)
