Zebra Halloween Makeup

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

Todays tutorial is a major throwback. I finally filmed a tutorial on my Zebra Halloween makeup from....2010?! Its crazy because it doesn't seem that long ago. Oh how time flies :)
At this stage I feel I've worn this look to death, especially seeing as this was my fourth take at filming this video. Even at that things went arse ways as usual, excuse the expression ha! I was putting a new fully charged battery in the camera and when turning it back on I didn't put the camera back on the same setting. One half of my tutorial looked completely different to the other half, rage! I also forgot that I owned a Zebra costume that would have topped off the look nicely but by George I was not filming it again ha!
Along with that iMovie has decided to just kick the bucket. Over the last while I've noticed the quality steadily going downhill but todays tutorial took the biscuit for me. The pictures were horrendously pixilated, not at all what they looked like before they went into the editor. I think its time that I went back to using Final Cut Pro, possibly for the sake of my sanity haha.

Urban Decay Naked Palette 2: Night Out Smokey Eyes

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

Last week there wasn't a write up on the blog. I didn't think it was necessary being that the video was a video review of a product, all of the information was in the video! As quite a lot of enjoyed that style of video it will be something I try to do every so often. It is more time consuming than a regular makeup tutorial which is why I won't be uploading them too frequently. However, next Saturday I do have another review video but that will be my last for the next little while. Unfortunately I'm starting back college soon, I just wont have the time *sigh*.
Anyway, todays tutorial was another highly requested look. Well actually I kind of merged two tutorials into the one today, killed two birds with the one stone and all that jazz! Another one of my most highly requested looks are ones involving the Urban Decay Naked Palettes. I think I have....5 tutorials maybe? Using palettes one, two and three but when a tutorial is this highly requested I cant ignore it ha! So many of you wanted another tutorial using the Naked Palette 2 so here it is.
Along with that I know a lot of people wanted a night out/date night makeup look, this tutorial is my interpretation of that.
With all that said, I hope you enjoy the look I created and as always the tutorial will be linked at the bottom of this post :)

4 Easy Eye Makeup Looks Using Colour

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

I pretty much have 4 tutorials in one video for you today.
I think almost everyone that knows me will know at this stage that I am a massive fan of colour. Colour when it comes to makeup only that is, clothing wise my wardrobe pretty much consists of black and white. Its handy when it comes to washing clothes though…its fool proof! Black wash…white wash. Sorted!
I love the more colourful/theatrical makeup looks and yes I will wear them on a daily basis. A lot of people will enjoy their neutrals, nope no sir not me…I need something vibrant! Recently though I haven't been rocking the 'I just got vomitted on by a pack of Crayola look' which pains me ha. I now record my tutorials at night time so I tend to not wear makeup during the day, if I do its eyebrows and some foundation. It pains me, but it pains me even more to have to put on..take off…put on and take off my makeup whenever I wanted to film a tutorial ha but thats just me!

Anyway, enough of the auld ramble. Here is a look at the 4 makeup looks that I have created. As I have said in the tutorial you don't need to wear a neon shade of colour to wear colour, select a shade and tone that you are comfortable wearing :)

Beauty on a Budget: Wet n Wild Cosmetics

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

I'm back again today with another 'Beauty on a Budget' video.
Probably strange to see two so close together haha I think my last two videos were a year apart! These videos have just been so highly requested I decided to pop up another video as soon as I could get my hands on some more products. I've probably covered nearly all budget brands that are in the drugstore by now. I know I haven't done one using Natural Collection, Collection and Seventeen Cosmetics…if you can think of any other brands you would like me to do just let me know :)

So as you can guess from the title, for todays video I have chosen the brand 'Wet n Wild Cosmetics', a brand that is only upon our shores in recent times!
This was the look I came up with and it cost €33.62 to create this entire makeup look :)

How to: Perfect Winged Eyeliner!

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

Today I have a tutorial on probably one of my most highly requested makeup looks to date, winged eyeliner! A tedious task for a lot of ladies and gents but I think once you have a technique and you practice it, it'll eventually become second nature to you.
There are probably hundreds of eyeliner tutorials on YouTube at this stage. The reason I created this look, along with the fact that it was so highly requested, was because I've never seen anyone create winged eyeliner like I do. I'm hoping thats not a bad thing haha! I honestly find this way to be fool proof, I use a series of dots to create my winged liner shape before filling it in as you will see in the tutorial. Eventually, once you get into the swings of things you won't need to create your outline using dots. You might not even need to start off using a felt tip pen :)

Products Used:

Essence Felt Tip Eyeliner Pen
Essence Liquid Ink Waterproof Eyeliner

Smokey Eyes: Teal and Gold

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

I'm back again today with another tutorial, an unplanned one at that!
Catrice Cosmetics are revamping their stands with the addition of new products unfortunately that comes at the price of discontinuing quite a few of the range. Yesterday I frantically searched 5 different Catrice stands from Wicklow to Dublin in the search of my much loved ultimate colour lipstick '190 The Nuder The Better'. Alas, it was nowhere to be seen :( Gutted.
While I was searching I spotted one of the most beautiful teal shades of eyeshadow I have ever laid eyes on…at €4.49 I had to have it!
So that pretty little shade was the reason for this tutorial, as you'll see I paired it with some golden tones, a combination of which I find really flattering.

Products Used:

Eyes
e.l.f. Eyelid Primer 'Sheer'
Inglot Amc Shine 08 (highlight)
Inglot Pearl 405 (antique gold shade)
Catrice Liquid Metal Eyeshadow '100 What Do You Sea?' (teal shade)
Catrice Skin Finish Compact Powder '010 Transparent'
Essence Eyeliner Pen
Essence Liquid Ink Waterproof Eyeliner
Ardell Natural Lash 117 Black
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Pencil 'Mainline'
Gosh Growth Mascara

Face
Avon Ideal Flawless Foundaton 'Light Ivory'
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer 'Fair'
Catrice Skin Finish Compact Powder '010 Transparent'
Sleek Contour Kit 'Light' (review here)
No7 Natural Blush Tint Powder 'Soft Damson'

Physicians Formula Bronze Booster Season to Season Bronzer

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

In the past I have been lucky enough to have been able to get my little mitts on Physicians Formula makeup. My friend Louise had sent me over some various bits and pieces from the States which I'm ever so grateful for! Other than the odd bronzer here and there in TK Maxx, Physicians Formula wasn't available to use ladies and gents here in Ireland……until now. >:)

I was luckier again to have been invited to the Physicians Formula Launch party in the Morrison Hotel last month. The room was filled with delicious treats, buzzing beauty bloggers and an array of makeup products…what more could you want? I had my makeup done on the night using different products from the range which was great as I was able to try out products that I might not have picked up otherwise. We got a lovely little goody bag to take home and todays review is of one of those products, 'Bronze Booster Season to Season Bronzer'.

I'm a huge fan of bronzer and contouring products, they give such a gorgeous finish to the skin. My makeup routine in the morning wouldn't be complete without that step! However, for myself finding a bronzer that isn't too orange toned and that suits my complexion can be difficult at times. My holy grail product had been the Sleek MakeUP Contour Kit 'light' (review here) but recently I had found myself wanting to try something new, something different!

As the name of the product suggests, this bronzer features a shade for each season. My favourite thing about this product is the fact that you can customize your shade of bronzer. You can wear each of the shades individually or swirl them all together! Physicians Formula stock this product in 'Light-to-Medium' and 'Medium-to-Dark'. The one I own is the 'Light-to-Medium', personally I think this compact is best suited to someone who has a pale complexion like myself.
The shades range from light, medium to dark so they are perfect for bronzing up the skin…no orange tones in sight! I love that I can still get use out of this while wearing a little bit of tan too, if I am wearing tan i'll bronze up my skin using the 'Summer' shade in the compact. Between the two different compacts there is a shade in there that will suit everyone!
The little gold circle you see in the centre can be used as a face highlighter which looks exceptionally lovely if paired with the 'Summer' shade of bronzer, the combination of the two shades gives such a gorgeous glow to the skin. The texture of the product is quite smooth making it very easy to work with, it blends like a dream.

Just underneath the bronzer, the compact opens to reveal a mirror and a brush so its perfect for on the go touch ups. The brush is a nice addition, its soft and does apply product well. However I prefer to use a smaller more precise brush for applying my contour/bronzer so I won't get much use out of it on a daily basis but it is handy to have on the go!

If you would like to see the product in action you can click the play button above and skip to the 3 minute mark :)

This product retails for €19.90 which is more than I would usually pay for a bronzer but its worth every cent, i'll definitely be repurchasing once I run out.
As of 1st June 2014, Physicians Formula is stocked in pharmacies nationwide.

Have you tried any of the Physicians Formula range? Let me know ^.^

MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well and enjoying the fine weather :)

Highlighters are the one makeup product I hoard…well, thats a bit of a lie actually I hoard a lot of products but in particular highlighters. I'm very fussy and unfortunately I am yet to find one that blows me away.
The problem is I usually find that some highlighters are too pink toned, some are too golden toned, some are too shimmery, some are non existent on the skin and the list goes on. I'm not fussy at all am I? haha! So lets see how todays bargain buy shapes up :)

A few months ago while on my stay down in Wexford, I was out and about in the town and came across a Superdrug. I didn't actually know there was a Superdrug in Wexford so you can imagine my delight. The closest one to myself is up in Tallaght so its a little bit of a journey and for that reason I've only been once. The excitement quickly faded once I realized this particular Superdrug didn't stock Sleek MakeUP but I still had an MUA stand, not too disastrous overall. Both times that I have been in Superdrug the MUA stand has been quite poorly stocked but I managed to pick up a few cheeky purchases all the same. One of which is this gorgeous little highlighter here!

The MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter is a gorgeous champagne highlighter that gives a pinky pearlescent shimmer to the skin. The product is housed within a white plastic container with a clear lid, very simple nothing flashy. With the addition of the clear lid and the beautiful embossed design of the highlighter this will be one product you'll be proud to whip out of your handbag for touch ups. I adore it however I am quite the sucker for packaging. I wasn't expecting much durability wise (klutz alert) but I have dropped this product several times and its still in one piece…pheeew!

With regard to the product itself I'm very impressed with the finish it gives on the skin especially for the price! In the picture above I swiped my finger over the product once and transferred it onto the back of my hand. It gives a beautiful subtle glow to the skin, perfect for every day use! However this product can be layered, when it is built up the pink particles are much more apparent which I think some people would prefer to wear as part of a night out makeup look.
The product lasts extremely well on the skin, between 7 and 8 hours for myself. This bargain buy set me back €2.20 as it was on offer at the time. It currently retails at just £3.00 over on the MUA site which you can find here.
Have I found my holy grail highlighter? No, unfortunately I am still on the search but I can't fault this product its definitely one of best in my collection. If you are looking for a budget friendly highlighter I'd highly recommend giving this guy a go, you won't be disappointed!

Bargain Hunter Byrne strikes again :D
What are your favourite highlighters? Let me know!

Benefit Bella Bamba Blush Review

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

Not too long ago I decided to delve into the world of Benefit again. I only own a handful of their products and that is sorely down to the price. As a student with little disposable income I find it very hard to justify for example, spending €30+ on a blusher. If you have been reading my blog for a long time or even from the name of the blog, you will know I post about bargain buys. Sometimes I do purchase products from high end brands but for the most part I stick to the drugstore. I think we now have fantastic quality products in the supermarkets and pharmacies that are just as good as the high end brands but at a fraction of the price!
But anyway thats just me I guess. A product has to be really special for me to fork out an arm and a leg. Back in August I attended Leeds Festival, there were a couple of makeup items that caught my eye in the inflight magazine on the way over so I decided if I had money left on the way home I would pick something up. To my surprise I didn't actually spend as much as I thought I would…well minus the fact I had to buy a new tent and blankets which I didn't foresee hahaha. If anything after some disasters I decided regardless I deserved some new makeup'y goodness :)

I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the Benefit set that was on offer, and even when I did know the name I wasn't able to find it online.
The Benefit pouch consisted of a range of different products from the company. Off the top of my head I remember it included the full size Bella Bamba you see here, a sample version of High Beam, a full size version of the Eye Bright pencil and a full sized Stay Don't Stray primer for around €30.
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY
Considering one of these full sized products alone is around that price I couldn't let this go. I tried to flag down the flight attendant as quickly as I could. While placing my order the lady next to me wanted a set too, and then my worst nightmare happened.
"I'm afraid we only have one left." uttered the flight attendant.
Holy Jesus my nerves, I thought it was going to be a fight to the death but the lady was going to be back on a flight next week for business so she let me have the set instead (God bless you)
Now that you know the background of how this product came into my possession….lets get on with the review! :)

It comes as no surprise that the packaging is extremely cute, colourful and very pretty…very Benefit! The lid of this blush folds open opposed to coming clean off like other Benefit products before? Correct me if I'm wrong.
This 'new' packaging has its pro's and con's. The pro's are that its great for travel, for one it has a mirror and two you don't have to worry about the lid falling off and making a mess in your handbag. The con is that the lid is quite awkward and doesn't stay open without you having to hold it. When I was taking the product shot I had to take it upside down because the lid was casting a shadow over the blush…. #bloggerproblems
A brush is contained inside the little box too, again making it useful for on the go. I prefer this style of brush for applying my contour into the hollows of my cheeks. I'm not even joking it has become my holy grail brush for doing just that! However for my blush I want a brush that is rounded or slightly angled.

Bella Bamba is a beautiful peachy pink shade of blush with shimmery gold undertones. Its a perfect shade for daily wear and I can imagine will be universally flattering across all skin tones. The quality of this blush is outstanding, it is so highly pigmented. The first time I applied the blush I went a little over board not realising just how pigmented it was. Even though I had applied quite a lot of product by accident the problem was easily fixed with a little extra blending. After some blending I had a nice flush of colour to my cheeks, its definitely a blush you can build on!

As I mentioned, this watermelon blush is very pigmented. In the above picture the product was only swatched once, which was then transferred onto the back of my hand. So you can see for yourself the colour pay off is excellent. I couldn't see myself running out of this product any time soon, not matter how often I used it!

This is by no means a new blush on the market, I'm just late to hop on the band wagon as always! Classic Eimear.
When I had a little look online I couldn't find an exact price…
I would say its around €30-34 mark. Is it worth that much you ask? I'm torn. It is such a beautiful shade, beautifully packaged and applies like a dream. But unfortunately I just don't think its worth forking over that much money for. Especially for someone like myself who isn't an avid blush fan. Once I run out I more than likely won't repurchase, i'll just end up finding a drugstore alternative but thats just the bargain hunter in me!

What are your thoughts? Is it worth €€€

Summer Pop of Colour: Cut Crease Makeup

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

I'm sticking with the Summer theme for todays tutorial. I've created a cut crease makeup look which incorporates a pop of colour on the lid. This kind of makeup look is perfect for anyone who wants to add some colour to their makeup but wants to do so in a subtle manner.
I'm still a bit sick at the moment a combination of a cold and hay fever…the joys! Honestly, who catches a cold in the Summer? Ugh.
When I'm sick my skin completely dries out…more so than usual!
If the eyeshadow looks slightly patchy its because my eyelids are a little flaky…yup I'm blessed with dry skin on my eyelids too haha!
I've been bathing in moisturiser like theres no tomorrow!

Summer Makeup 2014: Envious Embers

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

Well I've gotten week one of the new schedule down, chuffed!
Today's tutorial is long overdue, I posted this picture on my Facebook page last year and a lot of people wanted to see a tutorial on it. I find that sometimes when I create a look on a whim, I have a very hard time trying to recreate that exact makeup look. I don't know what it is but I find it just never turns out as good as the original. So for today's look I have ever so slightly altered the original look :)

It was funny because originally last year, I had actually recorded this tutorial but when I went to edit it I noticed some clips were missing. I could not and I stress, could not find those clips for the life of me.
I kept the footage so I would know what products I had used if I did ever want to re record the tutorial. I imported the clips back into my iMovie the other day and guess what?………..The missing clips magically re appeared. HOW.
I will never know. I imported, reimported…you name it I did it haha. In the end I would have had to have recorded the look again anyway as I had some seriously dodgy lighting and eyebrows going on….eeeek!

After much frustration this was the new and hopefully improved look I came up with :)
