Beauty on a Budget: Wet n Wild Cosmetics

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

I'm back again today with another 'Beauty on a Budget' video.
Probably strange to see two so close together haha I think my last two videos were a year apart! These videos have just been so highly requested I decided to pop up another video as soon as I could get my hands on some more products. I've probably covered nearly all budget brands that are in the drugstore by now. I know I haven't done one using Natural Collection, Collection and Seventeen Cosmetics…if you can think of any other brands you would like me to do just let me know :)

So as you can guess from the title, for todays video I have chosen the brand 'Wet n Wild Cosmetics', a brand that is only upon our shores in recent times!
This was the look I came up with and it cost €33.62 to create this entire makeup look :)

How to: Perfect Winged Eyeliner!

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

Today I have a tutorial on probably one of my most highly requested makeup looks to date, winged eyeliner! A tedious task for a lot of ladies and gents but I think once you have a technique and you practice it, it'll eventually become second nature to you.
There are probably hundreds of eyeliner tutorials on YouTube at this stage. The reason I created this look, along with the fact that it was so highly requested, was because I've never seen anyone create winged eyeliner like I do. I'm hoping thats not a bad thing haha! I honestly find this way to be fool proof, I use a series of dots to create my winged liner shape before filling it in as you will see in the tutorial. Eventually, once you get into the swings of things you won't need to create your outline using dots. You might not even need to start off using a felt tip pen :)

Ombre Eyeliner

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

I'm back again today with another tutorial! I've decided on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday as my new upload schedule. Praying to God now I don't burn out haha. It takes me hours to film followed by hours to edit and of course hours to upload. I literally do eat, sleep and breath makeup ha its such a time consuming hobby haha!

The ombre trend has been huge with regard to hair, fashion and makeup. Personally its a trend I love but have actually never embraced it so today I decided to change that. Instead of doing an ombre lip or nail tutorial I thought I would try my hand at an ombre eyeliner makeup look.
Overall I'm quite happy with the end result, I think paired with the bold lip its definitely a more editorial look but fun to wear all the same :)

Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 Tutorial

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

Today I ha…..well, not today actually. This post is going up a little later than I expected sorry about that! Last Saturday I uploaded a very highly requested tutorial using the Urban Decay Naked Palette 2.
I've had this palette in the house for the guts of nearly 2 years, I didn't particularly want to use it because it was my Mams but I figured she wouldn't want it to go to waste. The palette has only ever been used once when I did my Mams makeup when she first got the palette. So I decided as it had barely been touched I could still take a few snaps for a review which I will do very soon. I'm still having a play around with the palette and I'm not really sure what to make of it yet, but when I know….you will know :)

There are definitely some gorgeous shades in this palette but I don't think I like it anywhere near as much as my beloved original Naked Palette!
Only time will tell though so we shall see!
When I first had a play around with the shadows naturally I leaned towards the darker end of the palette. You can definitely create a range of looks using this palette from wearable to dramatic night out makeup looks.
For this tutorial I did opt for a night out makeup look but I do think without the addition of the liner and lashes, you could wear this as a smokey eye for day time. I would anyway :)
I haven't decided yet if I will create a more natural look using the Naked Palette 2, of course if people wanted one I would. Anyway, this is the look I came up with.

Lush Emotional Brilliance Liquid Eyeliner 'Motivation' Review

I am a huge fan of liquid eyeliners so naturally when I saw Lush were releasing their Emotion Brilliance line I was very excited! As part of the Dublin Blogger/Vlogger Meet we got to go to Lush on  Henry St and meet the manager Michael. He introduced us to the new range of products, after this we all got our colour readings done. Just to give you a brief idea about the range the concept behind it is that its all about wearing makeup that shapes your mood and how your feeling at the present time, not about wearing makeup that is trending or in season. Sarah (adoreabubbles) has a blog post which will give you a better idea of how the whole scheme works :) Here's the link.

I got to pick out my favourite product from the range to try out. They have various shades, 30 to be exact spread out over three categories:

  1. Liquid Eyeliners
  2. Cream Eyeshadow
  3. Liquid Lipsticks

When picking my product, I didn't even have to think about it, I was immediately drawn to the liquid eyeliner 'Motivation'. Its a gorgeous two toned teal shade. (hows the for alliteration eh?)
As far as the packaging goes, I absolutely adore it. Its very vintage and sleek looking.
I love how it looks on my desk, also the fact that the bottle can stand up by itself is a major plus. In general I really just like the 'ink bottle' appearance.
The lid of the bottle leads you to believe that there is a dropper style applicator, however it twists off to reveal a thin eyeliner brush. To my surprise the brush is very effective, its nice and thin so it allows you to create a nice fine line, perfect for a cat eye flick!

The pigmentation of this product is just hands down amazing. The consistency of the eyeliner is nice too, its not too thick not too thin. You don't have to retrace your line to get a good colour pay off, one swipe does the job. I find sometimes with other liquid eyeliners they can tend to feather at the edges when I'm lining my lash line. With the Lush liquid eyeliner this is not the case.

Without the use of an eyeshadow primer or base I find that this eyeliner does tend to smear. If you don't have an eyeshadow primer or base, a light layer of foundation followed by some powder is enough to prep your eye. The eyeliner takes a couple of minutes to dry, it gives a two tone metallic sheen.
I have also used this as an eyeshadow base and it works like a charm. I just apply a small bit onto my eye and blend out the eyeliner with my fingers. I then pack on my chosen eyeshadow on top of it and its good to go for the day, no creasing!

This product retails at €17.95 for 5g of product.
Personally I do find that is a tad on the expensive side for a liquid eyeliner. However, in saying that I can't really fault this product.

Overall

Pro's

  • Long Lasting
  • Highly Pigmented
  • Not tested on animals
  • Can be recycled
Con's
  • Expensive

GOSH Velvet Touch Eyeliner Review

I have been an avid user of the GOSH Velvet Touch Eyeliners  for years. Without a doubt they are my favourite eyeliners. I purchased my first eyeliner around 4 years ago in a pharmacy down the road from where I live. A GOSH stand had just been set up in the pharmacy and I was curious about the brand. I was immediately drawn to the eyeliners, they came in a rainbow of colours. So I decided to purchase one. It cost roughly €7.99 which I thought was pricey at first. But when I began to use the eyeliner I soon changed my view on the price.

The GOSH Velvet Touch Eyeliners have a soft and creamy texture to them. They glide effortlessly across the lid without pulling or dragging on  them. Once applied the eyeliners can be easily spread out across the lid using a brush, or blended out with your fingers. You can easily create a smokey eye using this method.  A smokey eye using "Black Ink" looks amazing. However I would say if you are doing this, to work fast as once these eyeliners set they will not budge. That is another great thing about these eyeliners, once they set they will last all day long.  There is no need to re apply the eyeliner during the day. With other brands I have found that after a few hours the eyeliner has smudged down underneath my eyes, with the Velvet Touch Eyeliners this is not the case.

To my knowledge these eyeliners come in 33 shades. All of the eyeliners I have bought are extremely pigmented. I don't doubt that the rest are too. I have also found that these eyeliners make an excellent eyeshadow base. For example I have used "Blue Lagoon" as a base and applied a blue eyeshadow on top. It made the blue more bright and vibrant.
The eyeliners I own are listed below
  • Black Ink
  • 005 Golden Cadillac
  • 008 Silver Screen
  • Purple Stain
  • Cool Mint
  • Blue Lagoon
  • Pretty Petrol

From Left to Right:
Pretty Petrol, Blue Lagoon, Cool Mint, Purple Stain, 008 Silver Screen, 005 Golden Cadillac, Black Ink

Pro's
  • Reasonably priced
  • Very Pigmented
  • Wide variety of colours
  • Last all day
  • Not harsh on the eye area
  • Multiple uses
Con's
  • None :) these eyeliners are close to perfect for me
