Lush Lover Lamp Bath Bomb - A Perfect Gift for Valentines Day!

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

It has been a few months now since I last reviewed a bath bomb from Lush and its probably been near enough that time since I've had a bath too. Extremely unlike me as I love long soaks in the bath but quite frankly I just haven't had the time lately! Recently I was up in Dublin for the launch of YSL's new Touche Eclat Le Teint foundation and after the event was over myself and another blogger Riona decided to go and do a spot of shopping. Unfortunately I don't have a Lush store near me and being that I was in town I knew I had to stop and check out what they had to offer. As Valentines Day is fast approaching I was hoping they would have some new bits and pieces in stock that I had yet to try, and I was right!

After some pondering I finally decided on the Lover Lamp Bath Bomb. The description of this product according to Lush is as follows:

"Off with the hearts! Pop this amorous Brazilian orange oil and vanilla bomb in the bath and the fair trade orange cocoa butter hearts will melt, softening the water. Self preserving and suitable for Vegans".

What led me to pick out this bath bomb in particular was the fact that it contained cocoa butter. I'm a huge fan of products containing cocoa butter as I find it soothes my eczema, butterball from Lush is a firm favourite of mine. Aside from that though, from reading the rest of the ingredients I thought the bath bomb sounded like a dream so I said I'd give it a go!

When I popped this into the bath the first thing I noticed was that the bath bomb fizzed around the bath, dissolving very quickly. As it was making its way around the bath I noticed it was spitting out lots of tiny little hearts and was beginning to turn the bath water a cloudy white colour. Initially I couldn't put my finger on the scent, I could just get quite a powdery smell. However when I actually got into the bath after the bomb had fizzled out that was when I could smell the orange and boy was it fantastic! The addition of cocoa butter made the bath water nice and silky and every so often when I moved I'd get that gorgeous hint of orange, a smell very similar to Terrys Chocolate Orange actually. When I got out of the bath I had a residue on my skin similar to as if I had already applied moisturiser, cocoa butter working its magic again!

All in all I'm a huge fan of the lover lamp bath bath it gets a big thumbs up from me. It's definitely one to pick up this Valentines Day whether it be as a gift for a partner or as a treat for yourself! The Lover Lamp bath bomb retails at €5.45 and is available from Lush stores nationwide.

Until next time :)

Nyx Vlogger of the Month: Simple Smokey Eyes with a Statement Lip

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

As I said in the video this is the final tutorial as part of the
Nyx Vlogger of the Month...and what a month its been!
I've received nothing but brilliant feedback I'm so delighted you all enjoyed the reviews and the last tutorial too :)
I really appreciate all of your lovely comments!

I decided to do a Simple Smokey with a Statement Lip.
I've realised I rarely wear bold lip colours in my tutorials, which is a bit silly seeing as I love a vampy lip!
Also I realise I do a lot of colourful eye makeup looks which may not suit everyone so I decided on doing a simple smokey eye but paired it with the bold lip so I'd be satisfying all of my subscribers :)

Unfortunately the weather has been quite bad here in Ireland, no surprise there! So I do apologise for the lighting in this video, its a little off.
This was my third attempt at recording this tutorial.
That along with the fact that I didn't actually get time to snap any pictures of the finished look. I just had time to finish recording the tutorial before it got dark :(

The products I used today were:

Eyes
Nyx Jumbo Pencil 'Milk'
Nyx Makeup Artist Kit
Nyx Satin Finish Black Liner BEL03
Mally Volumizing Mascara Duo

Face
Avon Ideal Flawless Foundation
Blank Canvas Cosmetics 6 Contour/Blush Palette: Face Powder
Nyx Makeup Artist Kit: Bronzer and Highlighter

Lips
Nyx Retractable Lip Liner MPL16 Plum
Nyx Makeup Artist Kit: Plum Lip Colour

NYX Vlogger of the Month: Icy Blues

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

As I have previously said and you may guess from the title, I am NYX Cosmetics Vlogger of the Month for the entire month of January.
I will have 2 makeup tutorials with 4 blog reviews starting with this one.
I created this video as I have received quite a few messages with regard to my eyes. I have quite large eyes and I have a lot of lid space to work with, so fortunately I can get away with blending my eyeshadow up high towards my brow bone without it looking too strange.
I have received a few messages from girls telling me they cannot recreate some of my looks because they do not have a lot of lid space and that their eyes are quite small.
There are ways you can cheat larger eyes and that is one of the reasons I created this video. Anyone can recreate my looks you just have to adapt it to suit your own eye shape :)
Instead of opting for a round shape to your makeup like so

You want to blend the eyeshadow upwards and outwards to the end of your brow bone this is going to elongate the eyes giving you the illusion of larger eyes, like so!

For this tutorial I kept all the darker colours to the outer corner of my eyes leaving the inner corner bare. I swept a matte white across the inner half of my lid while blending out to a shimmery black. Applying a lighter colour to the inner corner of the eyes helps to open up the eyes.

Lastly, another great tip to help give you the appearance of larger eyes is to apply a white/cream eyeliner to the waterline. Sometimes white can be a bit too stark so some people may decide to opt for more of a cream eyeliner on the waterline. This will not only help your eyes to appear bigger but it will also make you look more awake!

Finally, I created this tutorial for anyone who wants to add some colour to their makeup but maybe do not know how to go about it.
A pop of colour on the lid is always a great option, blending colours that are not normally worn on a daily basis with neutral shades is a great place to start!
However,
I have chosen to do a more 'evening look/night out look' with the use of the dark black through the crease.
Personally I don't believe there are rules to makeup and that a certain makeup look isn't suited for day time...I just wear what I like when I like.
People stare sometimes, I don't mind haha :)
I know everyone does not see things that way!

Nyx Glam Lipgloss Aqua Luxe 'GLG07 VIP'

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

This is my second blog review as part of the Nyx Vlogger of the Month.
Today I have a lipgloss review for you all.
Generally I am not too big a fan of lipgloss due to the fact that I have very long hair, which always manages to get stuck to my lips when I'm wearing gloss.
It can be a bit of a pain at times but its manageable.
With regard to lipgloss I always always always recommend that you do not spend a lot of money on a lipgloss.
I have found that no matter what the brand, how much you spend, the end result is always the same. Lipgloss in my opinion is just not long lasting and I have tried my fair share of glosses both high and low end!

The gloss I have chosen today is the Nyx Glam Lipgloss Aqua Luxe 'VIP'.
I choose this gloss as it is unlike any of the other glosses I own.
It is jam packed with gorgeous shimmery glitter flecks that run through the gloss and 'shine bright like a diamond' when applied to the lips!
If you want to add some sparkle to your every day makeup look, this is the gloss to go for. Just apply on top of a nude lipstick.
I've also found that to give us the illusion of larger more plump lips that applying this gloss to the centre of the bottom lip helps to achieve this.

As you can see from the picture above this gloss just oozes shimmer.
With regard to the lasting power, I've worn this to work on various occasions.
If I am only working a four hour shift I'll apply it before I head out the door, reapply on my break after my lunch and at the end of my shift I'll still have traces of the lipgloss on my lips. So for me, I have found that I generally need to reapply the gloss after a couple of hours. Which I have found is a pretty average length of time when it comes to the reapplication of most glosses.

I paired the gloss with this gorgeous icy blue smokey eye.
There's plenty of shimmer on the eyes so I wanted to use something on the lips  that would compliment the eyes but not be too overpowering and this gloss was the perfect touch.

This gloss retails at £5.50 so it is affordable.
Like I said I recommend that you spend wisely when it comes to gloss as it just does not last regardless of the brand and how much you spend.
I'll definitely purchase more from this line maybe opting for more bold colours next time! :)

Talk soon everyone!

NYX Eyebrow Kit with Stencil For Brunettes

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

Let me start by saying a Happy New Year to you all.
I wish you all the best and hope its going to be a wonderful year for you.
I know I have high hopes for this year, its going to be a good'n!
...major positivity buzz going on here :)

I have had a wonderful start to this year already as I am NYX Cosmetics Vlogger of the Month for the month of January :)
This month I will have 4 blog reviews on NYX products alone, along with a step by step tutorial including each of these products.

Todays blog review is on the NYX Eyebrow Kit with Stencil.
I choose the kit for brunettes.

This kit comes in two other shade ranges.
A kit for Blondes and a kit suited for Everyone.
Included in all of these kits are 4 eyebrow powders, 3 stencils and 2 brushes.

The kit is very well thought out its small, compact and convenient.
It is going to be a life saver for anyone who does makeup on the go as it is perfect for traveling.

I like the fact that there are 4 different shades in the kit.
I have been using the second shade on the bottom row to fill in my eyebrows.
This is a light brown brow powder I use this followed by the second brow powder on the top row which is a slightly darker shade of brown.
I usually use this shade to fill in the arch of my brow, using various shades of powder helps give the brows a more natural appearance.
The white in the kit works nice as a highlight underneath the arch of the brow.

As mentioned above there are 3 eyebrow stencils coming in different sizes.
These were not too much of a benefit to me as I have a shape to my brows and when I fill mine in I am literally filling in what hairs are there.
I don't really fill in outside the shape of my natural brows.
I have used the first portion of the stencil to give the bottom of my brow the definition it needs, after using this as a guide I then fill in my brows.
These stencils will be beneficial to anyone who is unable/unsure as to how to go about defining their brows.
As it is a stencil you are guaranteed that the end results will be picture perfect brows!

There is a mini angled brush and a comb included in the kit.

The comb is self explanatory, I firstly start by plucking any stray hairs followed by combing the brows into place.
I then load up the angled brush with some powder, using small strokes I then apply the powder shaping my brows.
I've used combs by a few different brands and to be honest I find them to be all the same quality wise...a comb is a comb haha!
The angled brush however I was surprised by the quality.
Its a rather decent brush, its relatively dense and applies the powder to the brows with ease.
If I am using this palette on a daily basis at home I would opt for a different angled brush purely because I prefer using a long handled brush but have no problem using the smaller brush for on the go.

There are instructions on the inside of the kit and also on the back of the kit.
Again making it a perfect kit for beginners.

This kit retails at £13.50.
This is a little more than I would spent on my brows seeing as I just use an eyeshadow and sometimes a brow pencil to give my hairs the extra definition.
However I can justify spending on this product due to the fact that the kit comes with a range of shadows, the brushes etc.
The kit is a nice idea and I'd highly recommend it to absolutely anyone from beginners to advanced makeup artists.

Have you ever tried eyebrow stencils? Let me know! :)
