Broadway Nails imPress Press-On Manicure Halloween Edition

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

It's almost that time of year again, one of my favourite times of year ....Halloween! Holidays are a popular time in particular for nail art designs but they can come at a price. The Broadway imPress kit allows you to achieve a spooky Halloween manicure (without the hefty price tag) in just a couple of minutes from the comfort of your own home!

I'm not going to lie, I am a nail picker. It's such a bad habit to have but when I'm nervous or anxious I just cannot stop myself. I love the look of shellac and gel nails and I love the idea of nail art designs but I have never gone to have my nails done in a salon before. This is solely down to the fact that I only like to wear false nails on occasion. I wouldn't be a fan of wearing fake nails for long periods of time and that is why I enjoy sets like these imPress ones. I can apply them and only wear them for one night if I want to or I can leave them on knowing that they will only last for up to a week. I simply prefer having the option of being able to easily remove the nails at home if I want to.

I got these limited edition Halloween themed nails in the post on Thursday and I couldn't wait to pop them on my nails. There are four different spooky styles in the range to chose from. These include:

  • Total Witch
  • After Midnight
  • Hot Blooded
  • Supernatural

The kit contains 24 nails that are stored within a large nail varnish bottle which I think its quite clever and very cute! I like the fact that you get more nails than you need, if you are a klutz like myself there is no need to fret if you make a mistake or lose a nail there are spares! Also contained in the kit are a prep pad and a mini nail file.

There is a removable tab on the back of each nail, this peels off to reveal a sticky adhesive that has been pre-applied so no glue is needed! Select ten nails from the kit that match the size of your own natural nails and then you can get started. Application is very quick and easy you just peel off the tab and press the nail over your own natural nail, begin pressing in the middle and then press down each side of the nail. Broadway recommends leaving the thumb until last.

Broadway state that the nails should last you up to a week. The nails I am wearing in the picture above I have had on for the last three days and they are still going fairly strong. I've used imPress nails previously and have gotten four or five days out of them depending on the style. This is my first time using the Halloween edition nails but I've a feeling they will last the five days.

I noticed that the nails in the Halloween edition kits are a bit longer and wider than other imPress nails I have used before. It wasn't really an issue though as I still found a selection of nails in the kit to fit on top of my own nails, but its just something to note!

Unlike me, if you prefer to steer clear of the prosthetics, blood and gore, and like to keep things nice and simple for Halloween well then these Halloween style nails will be the perfect finishing touch to your costume.

Available from leading pharmacies, retailers and Dunnes Stores nationwide. The imPress nails range €8.50 €10.50 depending on the store you buy from and the style you choose.

Do you have a favourite from the range? Let me know!

Lush Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar Review

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

Another bubble bar review you say? I simply cannot help myself. In all honestly though, can you blame me when the goodies are Halloween themed?
Nothing says Happy Halloween like a Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar................ am I right, AM I RIGHT? Most definitely >:)

The day I purchased this bubble bar pretty much consisted of a series of unfortunate events from the moment I woke up. I was racing to get my bus after an event in the lashing rain when I decided it was probably for the best if I stopped into Stephens Green to pick up an umbrella. I literally got from the top of Grafton Street to the bottom when the umbrella snapped and blew inside out. I knew I was now going to get saturated and then I would have to sit on a bus for the next hour and a half in my sopping wet clothing.
Nerves.Were.Raw.
Feeling sorry for myself I dashed into Lush and picked up the first thing that caught my eye, the Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar. I was tight on time so I didn't get to browse but knowing that a bath was awaiting me when I got home made the bus journey all the better!

I repurchased this bubble bar a couple of times last year I loved it that much. Its no wonder it was the first thing that caught my eye, it is extremely glittery.
Even though you can see that the bubble bar glistens in the light, the photos don't do it justice at all. I literally cannot begin to describe how shimmery it is!

That shimmer transfers like no other haha I was covered from head to toe in glitter after taking the products shots!

The Lush Bubble Bars can be a little pricey so if you really want to get value for your money I would suggest dividing the bar into halves or even quarters depending on the size of the bar. I usually just chop the bubble bar in half and I'm good to go!

When you crumble this bubble bar under the tap it turns the water a light orange almost yellow colour, the more of the bubble bar you use the more intense the colour will be. The bubble bar contains juniperberry, grapefruit and lime oils and it definitely has a citrusy scent to it. I was a bit surprised by the scent to be honest I thought it might have been a more musky, spicy scented bubble bar but I enjoy the fragrance all the same.

The Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar will set you back €4.95 and gets a massive thumbs up from me. The only thing I will say is that you will need to rinse out your bath afterwards. The glitter from the pumpkin sits at the bottom of the bath so if you don't rinse this down the drain straight away, it hardens and you're going to find yourself scrubbing for dear life to get it off ha!

Have you tried the Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar or any of the other Lush Halloween products?
Let me know :)
Until next time,

Vampire Halloween Makeup

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

I missed an upload last weekend because I was at the Irish Blog Awards in the Westgrove Hotel, Clane. I decided rather than rush a tutorial and upload something I was unhappy with, I would just skip a week and upload something decent the following week.
I was really looking forward to filming this weeks video. A couple of months ago 'BuyCostumes.com' got in contact with me with regard to making a Halloween video to suit one of their costumes. I picked this beautiful gothic style costume and filmed a vampire look to compliment it. I'm extremely happy with how the look turned out and I was really impressed with the quality of the costume too.
The site has a massive range of not only costumes but Halloween decorations also! Definitely a site to check out if you are in need of a fancy dress item for this year :)

Zebra Halloween Makeup

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

Todays tutorial is a major throwback. I finally filmed a tutorial on my Zebra Halloween makeup from....2010?! Its crazy because it doesn't seem that long ago. Oh how time flies :)
At this stage I feel I've worn this look to death, especially seeing as this was my fourth take at filming this video. Even at that things went arse ways as usual, excuse the expression ha! I was putting a new fully charged battery in the camera and when turning it back on I didn't put the camera back on the same setting. One half of my tutorial looked completely different to the other half, rage! I also forgot that I owned a Zebra costume that would have topped off the look nicely but by George I was not filming it again ha!
Along with that iMovie has decided to just kick the bucket. Over the last while I've noticed the quality steadily going downhill but todays tutorial took the biscuit for me. The pictures were horrendously pixilated, not at all what they looked like before they went into the editor. I think its time that I went back to using Final Cut Pro, possibly for the sake of my sanity haha.

Products Used:

Snazaroo Classic Colours Face Paint 'Black'
Gosh Intense Eyeliner Pen '01 Black'
Inglot Amc 63
Graftobian Clown White Cream Face Paint

I hope you enjoy the tutorial :)

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

I'm not going to lie, I've already started a countdown......49 days!
Today marks the start of my Halloween tutorials which I am so excited about. I've been counting down the days for far longer than I would like to admit, eep!
I've a few exciting things happening over the next few weeks, some of which will bring a few changes but I'm excited none the less :)
A mermaid makeup look has been highly requested over the last little while so it seemed fitting to have this as my first Halloween tutorial of the year.
I'm not sure if I will have a Halloween tutorial up every Saturday because I'm starting back college on Monday... #finalyearproblems

Vamp it up!

Hey Everyone!
Happy Halloween :)

So Halloween is finally here, to my disappointment actually. I love dressing up for Halloween but I hate the 30th of October and Halloween night itself. The 30th marks 'Banger Night', a night for bonfires, fireworks, bangers and mischief. The same applies to Halloween night really, I am currently sitting in tonight and I did last night too, the bangers and fireworks drive my poor dog Carrie mad and she would fret terribly if she was left in the house alone.
I dressed up on the 27th and 28th, I had a joint fancy dress 21st on Saturday and I dressed up Sunday too because of the bank holiday. I might do a separate blog post on what I dressed up as if you are interested. Anyway, onto todays look!

I wore this makeup out recently and got lots of compliments on it, I posted  it on Facebook too and people said they would be interested in a tutorial....so I did one!
I like this look because you can use it for Halloween if you wanted to dress up as a vampire or you can tweak it for everyday use over the winter months, mulberry lips are in trend this season! :)

Skull Fantasy Makeup | Collab. with Sonorona

Hey Everyone :)
Hope you all are well!

October is upon us so I am really getting into the Halloween spirit now! Todays Halloween makeup tutorial is actually a collaboration video with another beauty guru Maria, and her channel name is Sonorona. Myself and Maria decided that we wanted to do a skull makeup look, we wanted to do a sugar skull style look but we still wanted to keep the skull scary. Maria did this by adding patterns to her forehead and chin, typical of a sugarskull while using a colourful headband to add a colourful aspect to the look. I on the other hand was torn between the two, literally! I then decided that I would do half and half, the right side of my face inspired by a sugar skull and the left a scary skull.

Products Used:
  • Rimmel Special Eyes Eyeliner Pencil '164 Hurricane Grey'
  • Classic Colours Snazaroo 18ml 'Black'
  • Inglot Gel Eyeliner Amc 77
  • Inglot Duraline
  • Classic Colours Snazaroo 18ml 'White'
  • Blank Canvas Cosmetics 6 Powder Blush Contour Palette
  • Inglot Amc 63 (Black Eyeshadow)
  • Nyx Jumbo Pencil 'Milk'
  • Coloured Sequins 'Blue' and 'Turquoise'
  • Duo Lash Glue
  • Stargazer 105 Eye Dust
  • Collection 2000 Glam Metallics Eyeliner 'Punk 5' (Blue)
  • Collection 2000 Glam Metallics Eyeliner 'Vinyl 1' (Silver)
  • Collection 2000 Glam Metallics Eyeliner 'Grunge 6' (Green)
  • Rimmel Exaggerate Eyeliner '001 Black'
  • Inglot Matte 384 (Green Eyeshadow)

Here is Maria's look!

If you would like to see how Maria created her interpretation, I have a tutorial on the look linked below with a link to Maria's makeup look. Be sure to check her out on Youtube she is extremely talented and an absolute joy to watch!
