At the beginning of this year I bought my very first Too Faced eyeshadow palette. The original Chocolate Bar had been on my wish list for the longest time and I'm so thrilled that I bit the bullet and picked it up last January, it's now one of my all time favourite palettes! You can imagine how excited I was then to receive another eyeshadow palette in the series of chocolate inspired palettes by the brand. I had very high hopes for the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons palette due to how much I loved the original so let's see how I got on!
The Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons palette is the third eyeshadow palette of a series of chocolate inspired palettes by the brand. This palette follows the Chocolate Bar Palette as I have mentioned and the Semi Sweet Chocolate Palette which I am yet to try. This palette is similar to the original in the sense that there's a selection of neutral shades with pops of colour scattered throughout the palette along with the fact that the eyeshadows are infused with cocoa powder, hence the reasoning behind the name.
Unlike the other two palettes in the collection these eyeshadows are housed within a pink tin with a magnetic closure and there's a heart design on the front. Being that the shadows are enclosed within a tin you can be sure that the eyeshadows are well protected. The palette is very durable and ideal for travelling in my opinion. So now let's take a closer look at the shades!
Almond Truffle - Mauve toned eyeshadow with a matte finish
Satin Sheets - Pink toned highlight shade with a golden shimmer
Sprinkles - Light pink with gold shimmer, almost appears rose gold
Molasses Chip - Metallic copper/bronze shadow
Malted - Deep brown with red flecks, appears mostly matte on the skin
Cashew Chew - Light beige toned pink with a satin finish
Cotton Candy - Bubble gum pink with a frosty finish
Cafe au Lait - Golden taupe with a shimmer finish
Bordeaux - Matte red toned brown eyeshadow
Mocha - Warm toned medium brown
Blackcurrant - Deep plum/purple shade with pink and gold flecks. (A little on the chunky side but a nice shadow all the same)
Dark Truffle - Dark chocolate brown with shimmer finish
There are sixteen eyeshadows included in this palette two of which are larger than the rest. Satin Sheets and Divinity work great as highlight shades and I love to use Divinity as a base all over my lid to give me a nice blank canvas to start out on. There's a nice range of colours to be found, the palette consists of a mix of cool and warm tones along with a variety of textures too, mattes, shimmers, and metallics all can be found in the palette. The eyeshadows are soft and buttery to the touch and they are very easy to blend. I really feel like Too Faced knock it out of the park when it comes to their eyeshadows, they are some of the best on the market.
I'm very pleased with this palette as a whole although I did note a couple of things about two eyeshadows in particular. Cashew Chew required a little more work than the other eyeshadows, the pigmentation just isn't great unless you apply layer upon layer. Earl Grey looks like a beautiful deep teal shade in the pan but it's a disappointing shadow for me because when applied to the lid it's more of a deep grey. Other than that though I've no issues with this palette, I think it's fantastic. I do prefer the original Chocolate Bar palette in terms of shade range but that's just personal preference :)

Today I'm reviewing an eyeshadow palette that I have not been able to put down since the start of this year. I knew after the first couple of times I used it that it was love but I was holding off reviewing the palette until I had uploaded a couple of tutorials using it first. That way you would be able to really get a feel for how the palette performs! The Two Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette is not new to the market I think it launched in 2013 but if you don't have it already and are a fan of neutrals it is well worth checking out!
There are 16 shadows included in the palette and all are made with real cocoa powder hence the sweet smell of chocolate that wafts from the shadows...yum! Not only do the shadows smell good apparently they also have anti ageing properties due to the fact that cocoa powder is jam packed full of antioxidants. I don't know about that claim now but check back in with me in about ten years and i'll update you on that one haha!
The packaging is shaped like a chocolate bar and not only is it fun but it's very sturdy too. After I filmed my first tutorial using this palette my subscribers brought to my attention that I in fact had the new version of the Chocolate Bar palette. Initially the names of the eyeshadows were listed on a plastic overlay opposed to printed on the palette itself, which is the case with the one in my possession. I actually wasn't aware that there had been a slight change to the packaging but I'm delighted there was. A plastic overlay is a bit inconvenient and I'd most likely have lost it within a week!
There is a nice array of colours and textures in this palette including neutrals, some pops of colour, mattes and shimmers! I'm a big fan of the quality of the eyeshadows in general. They are buttery, very easy to work with and last well on the eyes. I thought the pink and purple eyeshadows were random colours to add to the mix being that the rest of the shades gel really well together. The palette could have done without the pink shade 'Strawberry Bon Bon' and to be completely honest I wouldn't miss 'Candied Violet' either. These were the only eyeshadows in the palette that I felt were duds, they just simply lacked pigmentation. I had to swipe my finger in the pink shade numerous times in order for it to show up on my skin whereas the purple shade looked fantastic in a swatch but the colour payoff didn't transfer onto the eyes. Aside from those two eyeshadows in my eyes the palette is perfect. The pigmentation of the rest of the eyeshadows is phenomenal!
Two shadows in the palette are larger than the rest which I also thought was a little bit peculiar, but I've found them to be multi purpose products so I won't complain! Along with using 'White Chocolate' and 'Champagne Truffle' on the eyes, I find they work well on the face also. I like to use Champagne Truffle along the cheekbones to add a glow to the skin and because I'm very pale I can get away with using White Chocolate as a matte highlight too.

I'm very new to the world of liquid lipsticks. I tried out one from MUA a couple of years ago for one of my beauty on a budget videos and I haven't tried out anymore since! I wasn't overly fussed with the one I had picked, it didn't suit my very dry lips so I just decided liquid lipsticks weren't for me. I really didn't give them a chance did I haha! Over the last year or so I have seen lots of bloggers posting about liquid lipsticks from theBalm on Instagram. I've liked everything that I have tried out from theBalm thus dar so I decided I would give the whole liquid lipstick thing another go. Being that this one was from theBalm I was hoping I'd be onto another winner!
Just like the rest of theBalms product range the packaging is cute and quirky with that 1950's feel to it, big fan of that. Another thing I like about the outer packaging is that the colour and name of the liquid lipstick is stamped on the lid, making it easy to pick out from a pile.
There are eight shades in the range and the one that I decided to purchase was the colour 'Adoring'. I wear deep shades on my lips constantly so when I spotted this beautiful burgundy number I had to add it to my collection.
This product is quite heavily scented something which took me completely by surprise. I opened the tube, lifted the applicator to my lips and thats when it hit me. Peppermint. Now, I like peppermint but I did find the scent of this a tad overpowering so if you are not a fan of scented products you might want to keep that in mind. Once applied though the smell goes away, thankfully. You don't have to worry about a sickly smell of peppermint loafing around all day.
When you unscrew the lid you will be greeted by a doe foot style applicator. I apply the lipstick from the applicator to my bottom lip only, for my top lip I need something a little more precise. To accurately apply the product to my top lip I use a lip brush!
This liquid lipstick is creamy in texture which makes the product very easy to apply, it just glides onto the lips. It is quick drying but it doesn't set too quickly, you will still have time to work with the product. I find the best way to apply this liquid lipstick is to apply one coat, wait for it to dry, and then apply another. You definitely need two coats with this particular shade to get a nice even opaque finish.
I found the liquid lipstick very comfortable to wear on the lips, it wasn't really drying at all. In terms of longevity the lipstick lasted about 4-5 hours before I felt I needed to touch up. I didn't need to fully reapply the lip colour but after eating and drinking the colour had flaked and faded in the centre of my bottom lip, once I touched that up I was good to go!
Even though I'm not a huge fan of the scent it doesn't put me off using the product. I'm very impressed with this particular liquid lipstick and can't wait to pick up more colours from the range!

Today I'm reviewing a product that I think will come in handy for a lot of you, I know it does for me. As the title suggests the Travalo is a refillable bottle that allows you to bring your perfume with you on the go in a compact manner.
The Travalo holds 5ml which according to the company is the equivalent to 65 sprays of perfume. One of the reasons why I bought the Travalo was because I carry an entire bottle of perfume around with me on a daily basis. I like to top up my perfume during the day but carrying around an entire bottle isn't very practical. Two perfumes that I always take with me, depending on which I'm wearing that day are Flowerbomb by Viktor and Rolf and Daisy by Marc Jacobs. They are not the cheapest perfumes on the market and if I happened to lose or break a bottle I would be devastated. The other reason I picked up the Travalo is because I plan on travelling more this year and its just a more effective way of carrying around perfume. Being that the Travalo is only about the size of a lipstick it cuts down on space too!
There are different collections within the range and these are as follow:

Travalo products are a little expensive for what they are, they range in price from €15 to €38 depending on which collection you purchase from. The Classic collection is the cheapest while the Milano collection is the dearest. The only difference between the two that I can see is that the packaging of the Milano collection is much more fancy.
I picked up my Travalo Ice bottle from Tk Maxx and it was in the clearance section for only €2. I'm a great one for grabbing a bargain haha! I absolutely love the product so I will be purchasing another bottle but i'll be doing so from their Classic Collection. The Classic Travalo is €15 and comes in a wide variety of colours.
How it Works
Pick a perfume and then remove the spray nozzle.
There is a small pressure sealed opening at the bottom of the Travalo. Place this opening on top of the perfume dispenser straw and then simply pump up and down to transfer the perfume.
And that is all there is to it!

At the end of August I finally delved into the wonderful world of YSL. I've been wanting to try out some products from their makeup line for the longest time but I always end up talking myself out of purchasing a product. A lot of the time, I like to spend my money on drugstore makeup which is very affordable. If I end up not liking a product for one reason or another, hey, its no big deal. The product wouldn't have cost me a whole lot of money whereas with higher end makeup, its a riskier business. I'm someone who just doesn't like wasting money so when a product is a little more expensive I'm always a little more reluctant to hand over my hard €€€. I mean...
What if the product is no good?
What if it doesn't suit my skin type?
What if I just don't like it?
Usually I go through the rounds of asking myself the above questions and more before finally asking myself the deal breaker:
Do I really need this?
I could be pondering over whether to buy a product for weeks, even months. If you are a long time follower of my blog you know I adore my budget buys and if I'm going to spend my money on a luxurious product i'll have researched it to the ends of the earth and back. If I do end up taking the plunge, you can assure that I must have high hopes for the product! With all that being said, when I found this product in the bottom of a goodie bag a few months ago I was ecstatic. I was finally able to get a taster for YSL without the worry!
One of the reasons I've always been drawn to YSL products is because of their packaging, it screams luxury. This particular product is contained within a reflective silver tube. Lovely to look at but a nightmare to photograph, I'm sure other bloggers are familiar with my pain. The reflective packaging is really nice but it dirties easily so keep that in mind. Prepare for the tube to be covered from top to bottom in fingerprints! There is a coloured band wrapped around the centre of the tube that signifies the colour of the lipstick inside and the YSL logo is embossed over the top of this band. The metal casing has a weight to it, its heavier than other lip products in my collection which again adds to that feeling of pure luxury.
When I first got this product I was that excited that I didn't even look at the packaging I just opened it as quickly as I could. I'm such a fan of darker colours especially brown tones so I was delighted with the shade. When I swatched it though I was a bit dumbfounded, the colour of the bullet was such a strong shade of brown yet it swatched so sheerly on my hand. Initially I was hugely disappointed, in search for some sort of explanation I checked the box and quickly realised what the problem was. It wasn't a lipstick at all, it is actually a sheer lip balm. Silly me! With that blip out of the way I could get on with enjoying the product for what it is!
The lasting power of this product isn't great but to be honest, when I realised it was a balm and not a lipstick I wasn't expecting it to last all day on the lips. YSL claim this product "leaves lips feeling soft and hydrated for up to eight hours."
I find that by the 2 hour mark the lip colour has completely faded but a glossy sheen remains on the lips for maybe an hour more. It definitely doesn't live up to the eight hour claim by the company, not by a long shot.
I've been wearing this lip balm non stop over the last couple of months, I always pop it in my handbag so its with me when I'm on the go. My lips are cracked and dry all year round but even more so around this time of year. A product like this then is perfect for me, it doesn't emphasise the cracks or flakiness and it feels nicer to wear than just regular old carmex or vaseline.
I like to wear the balm on its own like in the above photo or I like to layer it on top of other products like in this photo below. I've paired it on top of a lipstick called Orion from NYX Cosmetics which is a latte coloured lipstick just to give it some shine.
Last Summer my Auntie went to Portugal and she told me that she had picked up an eyeshadow palette on the way home from the inflight catalogue on the plane. She had mentioned that she had never heard of the brand before and had just picked it up because she liked the shade range. I asked her to bring it down to show me, I wasn't really sure what to expect but to be honest, I hadn't really high hopes for what she had bought. She came back into the room and as she produced the eyeshadow palette she began "I'm not sure if it's any use but..". I cut her off mid sentence. I squealed with excitement at the sight of theBalm Nude'Tude, not knowing what all the fuss was about she continued "So it's alright then?". Oh if only she really knew!
Initially, the highlighter Mary-Lou Manzier took the Blogging and YouTube world by storm. When the hype surrounding that product finally calmed down, then a new frenzy started and it was all about the Nude'Tude palette. Naturally enough as more and more Bloggers and YouTubers starting featuring the palette in blog posts and videos, the more requests I started getting from my viewers to create a look using the palette. There was just one thing though, I didn't own the palette, but I knew someone who did :)
My trusty Auntie Edna came to the rescue and allowed me to borrow her palette for the video, heck she even told me I could keep it but I couldn't do that, I knew how much she loved it. I enjoyed the palette that much I figured I had to pick it up for myself but then theBalm launched their Nude'Dude palette and I was torn between the two. Recently, I attended the Debenhams winter event and sitting at the top of my very generous goodie bag was the Nude'Tude palette. I couldn't believe it. Now I just need to pick up the Nude'Dude palette and I'm golden. Very long intro aside, let's get on with the review!
This particular Nude'Tude palette is part of a limited edition set. The only difference between buying this set and the palette on its own is that there is a mini 'Put a Lid on It' eyeshadow primer included in this set.
The palette is very well packaged. It comes in a box with one end revealing the mini primer and the other end opening up to reveal the eyeshadow palette. There is then a removable sleeve containing the palette that matches the design on the palette itself. I really like when products come with a sleeve, it just adds a layer of protection and stops your palette getting dirty. In relation to the packaging design, I adore the vintage vibe the palette has.
Within the palette you get 12 eyeshadows that range in textures and finishes. I feel based on the shade range the palette has something for everybody. Also included is a double ended shadow liner brush. I haven't used this brush yet and to be honest based on how the brush feels, I more than likely won't bother with it. The palette opens up to also reveal a large mirror making it handy for when you're on the move.
Let's take a closer look at the eyeshadows.
Sassy: This is a frosted white eyeshadow with good pigmentation.
Stubborn: A light to medium pinky peach shade that also has a frosted finish.
Selfish: Is a frosted taupe brown shade with grey undertones.
Snobby: Shimmery light gold shade. I'd almost say its more of a yellow.
Stand-Offish: In the pan this looks like a light pink but when applied it is more of a light golden brown shade that has a sort of metallic finish.
Sultry: Matte warm brown. Another highly pigmented shade and very easy to blend.
Sophisticated: Warm dark brown shade with shimmer running throughout.
Sexy: Matte warm cranberry/burgandy shade. One of my favourites in the palette, really pigmented and very easy to work with.
Serious: Matte black, its not the most pigmented matte black I have come across. You do need to layer it to get an intense colour payoff.
Seductive: Warm toned golden brown shade with a satin finish.
Silly: Dark brown with red and golden flecks running throughout the shadow. This is another firm favourite of mine!
Sleek: A very dark matte brown shade that is almost black. Pigmentation is fantastic and its nice and buttery so very easy to work with.

As I've said there is something for everyone in this palette. You can create neutral smokey eyes with this palette or really intense dark smokey eyes either. I love deep smokey eyes so I was immediately drawn to the cluster of darker shades along the right hand side of the palette.

I am very pleased with how this palette performs. The quality of the shadows is outstanding, they are highly pigmented and are buttery smooth to the touch so they make the blending process very easy to do. The only shade I found that needed a little extra work was the matte black in the palette 'Serious'. It isn't as pigmented as the other shadows in the palette, you need to layer it to get a nice intense payoff. My least favourite shade in the palette is the yellow/golden eyeshadow 'Snobby' and that is just purely because of its colour. The only thing that I feel the palette is missing is a matte highlight shade. If 'Snobby' was replaced with a matte highlight colour I think the palette would be absolutely perfect.
Overall though I'm delighted with the palette and I'd highly recommend. It will set you €35 which I think is quite affordable for what you are getting in terms of quality. If you follow me on social media or even just here on the blog you will know that a while ago I attended the big reveal of the Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette at the Dean Hotel in Dublin. I put up a little post with information regarding the event and product, I also included some very quick swatches, if you missed that post you can catch it here. The week after the event I was sent out the Naked Smoky palette to try for myself and I'm here today to give you my final thoughts on Urban Decay's latest edition to the Naked range.
I am a massive fan of Urban Decay and have been for years. I own numerous palettes (not only from their Naked range), their primers and I've always been a lover of their 24/7 glide on eye pencils. I can honestly say that I have never been disappointed with a product I've purchased from the brand. However, this latest release has left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. I'll tell you a bit more about that later on.
When the first images of this palette emerged online I was jumping up and down I was that excited. Out of all of the Naked palettes on the market, the colour combination of the Naked Smoky was definitely my favourite. I simply couldn't wait to get my hands on it.
Before I go into detail about the eyeshadows I want to talk to you about the packaging. To me, the packaging is pretty much spot on. It is most definitely my favourite packaging from the range to date. Design wise there is some smokey detailing on the front and back of not only the palette itself, but on the cardboard box too. The plastic casing is sleek and sturdy yet doesn't appear bulky which I like. I also think the addition of a magnetic closure is a nice touch. As per the other palettes, there is a large mirror making the palette perfect for on the go.
If you're not familiar with the previous releases from the Naked range, encased in the palettes are 12 eyeshadows with matte, satin and shimmer finishes.
One of the things about this palette that is different from the rest of the naked releases, is that the shadows are grouped together according to texture. This was a fantastic idea and I believe it will prove to be beneficial for any beginners out there.

All of the shadows are new to the market with the exception of Radar, Armor, and Black Market. Armor and Black Market previously appeared in The Vice 2 palette while Radar appeared in The Vice palette.
The Naked Smoky comes with a leaflet that gives a detailed step by step guide on how to create four different looks using the palette. Again, something that would prove very useful for beginners or simply for people who are looking for a little inspiration.
Also included in this palette is a double ended brush. Let's take a closer look!
On one end we have a tapered blending brush. If you have seen my video on my favourite eye makeup brushes you will know that I like to use different blending brushes for different reasons. This is the type of brush that I would use last for blending. This brush is slightly stiff so I don't like it for blending colour into the crease. Once I have my shadows applied and blended out in the crease I like to use this brush to buff around the edges of the shadows to ensure that the colours are diffused nicely. It works great for this purpose.
On the other end then we have a pencil brush. I would use this type of brush for smoking shadow down along my lower lash line but I just found that this particular brush was too harsh. The bristles felt like they were scratchy underneath my eye when I tried to apply some eyeshadow. I decided to wash the brush to see if that would soften up the bristles but it didn't, so this end was a no go for me!
As I've said before I had a ridiculous amount of requests from viewers looking for a tutorial using the Naked Smoky Palette. I received this palette on a Thursday morning so I got up and spent my time solidly filming and editing to ensure I got the video up at my normal time of 6pm on a Friday. *Sigh* now we move onto the disappointing part, the quality of the shadows.
I'm all for the deep dark smoky eyes so naturally enough for my first look I gravitated towards the grey tones in the palette.
The Urban Decay Primer Potion is one of my all time favourite eyeshadow primers so I popped this on before eyeshadow application to prep my eye area. The first shadows that I used from the palette were matte. Matte shades sometimes can be a little tricky to apply but I found myself really struggling with 'Whiskey' and 'Password' in particular.
Whiskey is the dark brown matte shade in the palette and this was the colour I used in my crease. I had to keep layering and layering in order to get the colour pay off that was in the pan. Layering matte shades isn't unusual, for me the problem was the amount of layers I needed to apply. Due to the amount of layers I was applying I found I was then getting a bit of a patchy appearance, which is noticeable in the finished look.
I wanted the grey smokey eye to be quite intense so I decided to apply the shadow Password as my base. That way, it would make the satin finish shadow 'Dagger' really pop when I applied it on top. I found the shade Password very hard to apply evenly, I had to pat the shadow onto the lid over and over again to ensure I had a nice opaque finish to the lid. Similar to my gripe with Whiskey, patting the shadow on the lid to get an even layer wouldn't be unusual, it was the fact that I had to spend a lot of time doing so. Not only that but I found Password just didn't wear well on the eyes, it separated on the lids after a couple of hours wear time. I never have a problem with my eyeshadows fading or creasing but this should definitely not be the case especially when I prepped with the primer potion first.
To get any sort of lasting power out of the eyeshadow I had to use a primer followed by a grey base and even at that longevity wise things weren't great!
Based on the above look, the last shadow that I had a problem with was the shade 'Smolder'. The moment I set eyes on the palette I fell in love with the shade Smolder, it is the most beautiful deep plum shade. I'm more so just let down by this shade as I find that the colour in the pan doesn't transfer onto the eyes. I find it applies more so like a muddy grey.
Now it isn't all doom and gloom I did use five other shadows to create the above look and these shadows I did enjoy. These shadows were:
Combust, Thirteen, Black Market, Slanted and Dagger.

The response I got from that video was fantastic and again, I received numerous requests to record another look using the palette. I had other requests so I decided to kill two birds with the one stone and combine them. The following Friday then I recorded a 'no brushes' makeup look using the Naked Smoky again.
The only shade that I used that was different from my last look was the eyeshadow 'Dirtysweet' one of the shimmer shades. I've nothing bad to say about this eyeshadow it applied and lasted well on the eyes.
The other eyeshadows I used to create this look were:
Thirteen, Combust, Black Market and Whiskey.

From the above video's I have shown you nine out of the twelve eyeshadow in action. To date I have used all the eyeshadows in the palette, combining them in different ways. The only other shadow that I haven't discussed yet that I had an issue with is the shade 'High'. I don't have a major problem with this eyeshadow it was just something I noted. The texture of the rest of the shimmery shades to be fine, but I found the glitter particles in the shadow 'High' were a little bit chunky.
Overall I just feel that the quality of the eyeshadows has majorly dropped. The issues that I had with the shadows in this palette, I never had with the rest of the Naked range. I couldn't fault the original Naked palette, same applied with Naked 2, with regard to the Naked 3 palette I just wasn't keen on a palette filled with rose toned eyeshadows but the quality was great and then finally we have Naked Smoky. Unfortunately I love the range of colours in the palette but sadly the quality just isn't there.
The Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette retails for €46 and is available in store and online from House of Fraser and Debenhams.
