Human+Kind All-in-one Wash-off Cleanser Review

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

Today I am back with another skincare review..I suppose when I put it like that it sounds like I wrote a skincare post recently, quite the opposite!
My first and last skincare review was almost this time last year and funnily enough it was a Human+Kind one too! I reviewed the 'All in one Night+Day Cream' which you can read here.

If you have read my last skin care post you will know that I am not a fan of trying out different skin care ranges. During my teenage years I suffered from terribly bad acne, in order to treat this problem I was advised to
develop a skin care regime. I picked up a cleanser, toner, moisturiser and an exfoliator which I used once a week. I used these products religiously hoping that my prayers would be answered and my skin would clear up.
However to my horror I began to notice my skin was actually getting much worse, not better. The first ever skin care range I used was supposedly suitable for sensitive skin, but by god it didn't suit me! After using these products for not even a week I had breakouts much worse than before, my skin was raw red and I also had very dry flaky patches on my face. All as a result of a skin care range not agreeing with my skin.
And this ladies and gentlemen..is generally the story of my life.

The only skin care ranges that have ever did my poor skin justice are the Liz Earle and Human+Kind ranges. As I had previously used a product from the Human+Kind skin care range and it worked wonders for my skin, I was intrigued about picking up another product from the range. I can solemnly say I had every confidence in this product suiting my highly sensitive skin.

I went ahead onto the website humanandkind.com and ordered my cleanser. I  received a prompt email from the Human&Kind team thanking me for my purchasing and notifying me that my item would be shipped today. I really appreciate a good customer service, my item was sent out in an efficient manner and was in my grasp within a couple of days. When I opened the package that my cleanser was enclosed in there was a little hand written note inside thanking me again for ordering their products. I adore personal touches like this. Not only are the products a dream to work with the company is a pleasure to deal with!

The cleanser itself is cased within a lovely polygon shaped cardboard box.
A++ where the packaging is concerned, its so unique and eye catching..I simply love it! However, its always whats on the inside that counts..so lets take a look!

As you can see from the above photo the cleanser is wrapped in this gorgeous Human+Kind stamped cloth..which came absolutely free might I add!
The cloth is probably the softest thing I have ever felt in my whole entire life. The trick to this cleanser is wetting your face prior to application, once the cleanser is applied to damp skin you then buff the cloth over the face.
This cleanses the skin beautifully removing all traces of makeup, I find it even helps to exfoliate the skin. I have been using this cleanser religiously every evening since I bought it, which was July 1st.
I can safely say I have suffered no skin irritation from this cleanser it definitely helped sooth my sensitive skin. I have noticed that my skin is much more even, any redness has been reduced if not has completely diminished in certain areas of my face and my skin is as soft as a babies bottom! Within the first few days of using the cleanser I noticed I began to break out, if this happens don't be alarmed it is just the impurities deep down in your skin coming to the surface. After a couple of more days they were completely gone leaving my skin looking more radiant than before. The cloth seems to be holding up well too, I've washed it a fair few times in the washing machine since I bought it. Its still as it was when I received it, still soft still does a brilliant job!

The cleanser retails at €14.95 with a free wash cloth and free shipping!
I'm absolutely delighted once again with my purchase from Human+Kind, I'm definitely going to work my way through their range to see what other brilliant buys I come across :)

For more information head over to the Human+Kind website which I'll link here.

Thanks for tuning in guys!
See you in my next post :)

The Nima Mitt Review

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

As I mentioned back in my Cocoa Brown Review, if you missed out on that click here.
Back in December I met up with some other lovely Irish beauty bloggers and vloggers. During this meet up we had a couple of guest speakers in, one being Marissa Carter creator of Cocoa Brown Tan and owner of Carter Beauty Blackrock, followed by Niamh Martin creator of Nima Brushes.

Niamh showed us her lovely range of brushes followed by a demonstration on Sarah from adoreabubbles! The brushes are extremely soft and the brightest brushes I have ever layed eyes on. While I love colour on my eyes I tend to stick to products which are black and white when it comes to my kit as I find they look more professional. However at the mention of a teal collection coming soon, I am fairly swayed!

Niamh also demonstrated a product called 'The Nima Mitt'.
The mitt claims to remove all traces of makeup, leaving no residue without the use of a cleanser. Even though I saw the mitt remove makeup in the flesh I was still a little skeptical. I wear a lot of eye makeup along with foundation, concealer, bronzer the works!

The secret to the Nima Mitt is the micro fibres that are tightly woven together. When water is added and the mitt is massaged into the skin, the mitt breaks down the makeup..hey presto!
But does it do what it say it does?

Most definitely!
I have highly sensitive skin it is extremely frustrating.
I have used numerous skin care products to no avail, the end result is always a break out. I hate not being able to try out skin care products without worrying how my skin will react, well, realistically I know how it will react. Regardless of whether the product says 'suitable for sensitive skin' or not, I can 99.9% guarantee it will not suit my skin. I am always left with a raw red rash on my face which lasts for days followed by very dry and flakey skin. Nightmare!
The only products that I have used to date, that have not irritated my skin is the Liz Earle Skincare range and a moisturiser from Human and Kind.
I have tried products from Sheer Cover, Simple, Garnier, Clearasil, Clean and Clear..the list goes on!
It doesn't just stop there either, makeup wipes are a huge problem for me also. There are only a select few on the market that I can use that will not irritate my skin. Looking after my skin and taking off makeup is simply not a pleasant ordeal for me.
So for something like this to come onto the market I thought to myself, this could really be the answer to all my problems.
I am so happy to say it is.

Before I go to bed I go through the process of taking off my makeup with the mitt. I pop on the mitt and then I put on the tap making sure the water is luke warm. Once I have let around half of the mitt become saturated I start to massage it around my face. I start with my eyes as they are the most work followed by removing the foundation from my face and neck.
The mitt removes the makeup with ease and usually takes me around 5 minutes to fully remove all the makeup.
The Nima Mitt lightly exfoliates the skin while removing the makeup leaving skin looking fresh and feeling soft. Even though the mitt exfoliates the skin I have found no irritation to the skin when used daily, relief!

The mitt is extremely easy to clean, I put on the mitt and rub a bar of soap over the surface and then rinse thoroughly. I then let it dry over night :)
The mitt is also perfect for travel, you do not have to worry about bringing cleansers just pop the mitt in your bag and your good to go!
I really cannot praise this makeup remover mitt enough I would recommend it to everyone especially anyone who suffers from sensitive skin like myself.

Lately I have been keeping the mitt in my shower.
I use it regardless of if I have makeup on or not.
To refresh my skin I lightly buff the mitt over my face, its less harsh compared to an exfoliator and leaves my skin super soft!
After my shower I can then move on to applying my makeup as I have a nice base to work with. I really cannot get enough of it!

The mitt retails at €12.95 and can be bought from www.nimabrush.com.
In my opinion this is an absolute bargain buy I would be lost without it!
No more break outs for Eimear :D

Have you tried the Nima Mitt?
If not what do you think of the concept, pretty amazing huh?

Lush Haul: Face masks, Shampoo Bars and more!

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

I would consider myself quite an organised person with regard to many things in life however, Christmas shopping this year was a disaster.
I left absolutely everything until the last minute.
Instead of my usual trip to Dublin on Christmas Eve to soak up the festive atmosphere, I was running around like a headless chicken present shopping.
Thankfully I got all my bits and bobs sorted in just a couple of hours.
Before leaving I took my usual trip into Lush.
To put it lightly, the place was jam packed. Clearly I was not the only one who left the Christmas shopping until the last minute...pheeew!

I've had a few items on my list for a while that I have wanted to try out and now I was finally getting round to it.
The first thing I needed was a good ol face mask. At the time I had been trying out a new skin care routine and to say the cleanser broke my skin out was an understatement, my skin was fried.
I had no idea what I was looking for with regard to face masks or what would suit my extremely sensitive skin.
I decided to seek the advice of a member of staff.
The girl that helped me find the perfect face mask her name was Eimear too :)
She was extremely helpful and she actually stayed with me and helped me for the remainder of time that I spent in Lush!
Eimear decided that the Cosmetic Warrior Face Mask would be ideal for my highly sensitive skin. This face mask will suit anyone with sensitive skin who is prone to breakouts. I've used it about 4 or 5 times already and its amazing.

The next product I wanted needed to try out was a bath bomb.
I have used these in the past and they are divine. The one I used previously had gorgeous pettles in it!
Due to stress I suffer from quite bad eczema so again, I needed a product that would not irritate my skin or a product that wouldn't cause a breakout.
The bath bomb Eimear recommended was the Butterball Bath Bomb.
This bath bomb is filled with chunks of creamy cocoa butter which is ideal for rehydrating dry skin. I've since used this also and it left my skin feeling so silky and soft..review coming soon!

Next I decided my lips were in need of some TLC.
As you can probably guess, yes I suffer from very dry and chapped lips.
Everytime I've been in Lush paying for items at the counter I've been tempted by the lip scrubs and I decided today was the day to get one.
It was a toss up between the mint and bubblegum flavour scrubs but in the end I went for the bubblegum.
I rub the bubblegum lip scrub over my lips and this gently exfoliates them removing any dry skin I may have. Its literally good enough to eat and because its all natural you can lick away the excess, the part I look forward to most!
I use the scrub if I am going to be applying a matte lipstick as dry skin and matte lipstick just don't mix well! This pretty pink pot is a life saver :)

Shampoo bars are something that I am just boggled by so picking up one was an absolute must.
I have been using a Rockaholic Shampoo Bar for a couple of months now and this is due to hearing so much about the Lush Shampoo Bars.
I was very surprised that the bar actually made my hair silky and shiney so while I was in Lush I thought I'd try out one of their bars.
I have very long hair....bum long so sometimes it can be quite hard to manage.
Because it is so long it is quite flat and knots easily. I also have to unfortunately wash my hair daily as it gets quite oily...pity it cannot be more like my skin ha!
This is why I picked up the shampoo bar Seanik.
Lush describe it to:
'Soften tangled locks and add oceans of shine with this mineral-rich, sea salt volumizing shampoo. Like a trip to a blue lagoon, Seanik is made with the best ingredients from the sea; softening Irish moss seaweed, and Japanese nori seaweed to make your hair soft as silk from root to tips, and sea salt to give body and volume to hair that’s fallen flat.'

and that is good enough for me!

Lastly I just had to pick this up, even for the packaging alone!
Its so cute and an absolute bargain buy at €8.95.
I have yet to open this one (can't bear to rip the packaging)
when I do I'll let you know my thoughts! :)

What are your favourite Lush products?
I'd love to hear so I can pick up some new ones :)
