Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub Review

Hey Everyone!
Hope you all are well :)

One thing that I seriously neglect is my lips.
I tend to get very dry and cracked lips throughout the year, not just in the winter. Even though this is the case I do not religiously use a lip balm.
If they are very dry and sore I will use some vaseline or my EOS lip balms but other than that I don't do anything special.
I have an awful habit of biting and chewing on my lips when I'm nervous or when the skin is peeling.
Need I say more? I am a disaster when it comes to looking after my lips...
they are in serious need of some TLC!

Anytime that I am in Lush I have always been tempted by these little lip scrubs near the till. After contemplating buying one for far too long, I finally decided to pick one up just before Christmas.
I have never tried a lip scrub before and thought it would probably solve a lot of my problems with regard to the dry skin.
I layer lip balm and vaseline over the dry skin instead what I should be doing is using the scrub to remove the dry dead skin and then treat the lips with the balm.

After much deliberation I decided to pick up the bubblegum flavour lip scrub over the mint one. However I will be back for the mint one as I absolutely adore this one!
The scrub is 100% natural and is made up of a blend of fairtrade sugar and moisturising caster oil to leave your lips sensually soft and tasting good too!
I take a little bit of the scrub on my finger and run it over my lips for a couple of minutes, then comes my favourite part..I like my lips clean!
The lip scrub has the most sugary sweet candyfloss taste, I've often had to contain myself when using the scrub its seriously good enough to eat!

As I said back in my Secret Santa review, I love how Lush put this sticker on the packaging showing you who exactly put the time and effort into making your product. Its such a nice personal touch, I cannot think of any other company that does this!

A little goes a long way with this product, I don't think I will ever get to the bottom of it!
If I want to wear a matte lipstick out the weekend on a night out or just in general, I will use this scrub a few days before hand.
This gets rid of the dry skin that the matte lipstick would sink in to, leaving me with smooth lips which are lipstick ready!

I do not recall how much exactly this lip scrub was, it was approximately €6.50.
Which I thought was expensive at first but I realised I am going to get endless use out of the product so I could justify the spend.
Overall I am quite happy with my purchase :)

Have you tried any of the lip scrubs?

  1. This post was great! I too have a terrible problem with dry lips, and seem to think ripping the skin off is going to help. I'll have to try and get a hold of some of this stuff!
